Obituary of Philip J. Redmond

Roulette - Philip J. Redmond, 76, of, Roulette, died Thursday (June 7, 2018) in the UPMC Cole, Coudersport. He was born Sep 6, 1941 in Coudersport, a son of Fredrick W. and Mildred A. Swartout Redmond, On February 11, 1967 in Roulette, PA, he married Gloria J. Bloomer, who survives. Mr. Redmond was a 1960 graduate of Port Allegany High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1962 to 1968. He was aboard the USS Ticonderoga CVA-14 and a member of Fighter Squadron 51 which saw action in August of 1964 in the Gulf Of Tonkin He was a member of the Domain of The Golden Dragon Ruler of the 180th Meridian He enjoyed spending time in the Finger Lakes on Lake Lamoka. Mr. Redmond was a Machinist, employed by Pure Carbon and cared for the elderly along with his wife for many years. He was a Lifetime member Roulette Fire Dept., Roulette, PA and was a member of Port Allegany Moose Lodge #460 and VFW Post 6391, both Port Allegany, PA 43 In addition to his wife, he is survived by Two daughters: Thrisa (Michael) Borro of Roulette, PA and April (Tim) Quimby of Manchester, PA, Three grandchildren; Sara and Nicole Borro, J.T. Speed and Ariel Quimby One sister: Judy (Ron) Dates of Roulette, PA One brother: Fred (Shirley) Redmond of Roulette, PA He was preceded in death by his parent's one brother Robert and two sisters Florence Joseph and Ruth Boyer At Philip request there will be no visitation. A celebration of Philip's life will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2018 ay 2 PM in the Riverside Methodist Church, Roulette, PA., With the Rev. Randall Headley, officiating.
