Gloria and Jim Donovan moved to Ridge Street, Ridgway, PA where I lived with my grandparents. Their daughter, Jenny, and I became great friends and the Donovans were like my second family, especially after my own mother passed away. Gloria was my second mother and she always knew what Jenny and I were up to even though sometimes it was "no good"! I love the whole Donovan family and you all know how much I loved Gloria. She will be forever in my heart. I loved to spend time with her...she made me laugh and was such a fun loving lady to be around. You all have Rich and my deepest sympathy. Many wonderful memories of Gloria when she lived in Smethport in the 50's & 60's. Remember her standing by the stove in her bathrobe cooking breakfast when I'd stop by for Cathy on the way to school. Always a fun lady!!

My sincere condolences are offered to your family on the passing of Mrs. Donovan. I fondly remember her from her days "running" the cafeteria at RHS. She was always very friendly to all of the students and made sure that we "footballers" got plenty to eat even though we couldn't always pay for extras.

As an "out of towner" in Ridgway Gloria and Jim made me feel welcome and proud to be part of the school system there. I will remember them both with a smile as I think back to their zest they had for life and for sharing it with others.

I am so sorry to hear of Gloria's passing. I have so many memories, from her letting me get lunch from the teacher's salad bar, to the trip to Wrightsville Beach, to visits in FL when my parents were there. They've shared with me stories from their recent visits to Pinecrest and how happy they were to reconnect. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
